DAVERCOF DX Syrup is used to relieve cough due to throat or bronchial irritation, sneezing, and running nose caused by cold, dry cough, allergic cough, post-operative cough, smokers cough, and night-time cough. It is also used to manage hay fever or upper respiratory allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy, watery eyes, and itching of the nose and throat. It is a combination of Chlorpheniramine and Dextromethorphan, which belong to the group of medicines called Antihistamines and Antitussives respectively.
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine, as this may lead to unwanted effects. DAVERCOF DX Syrup is not recommended for use in patients with or at risk of developing respiratory failure (Ex. chronic obstructive airway disease, pneumonia, or an exacerbation of asthma).
DAVERCOF DX Syrup should be used with caution in patients with lung disease, severe kidney disease, or heart disease.
DAVERCOF DX Syrup is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Contact your doctor before taking.
DAVERCOF DX Syrup is not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age. Contact your doctor before taking.
DAVERCOF DX Syrup should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or older). Contact your doctor before taking.
The most common side effects of this medicine are sedation, somnolence, disturbance in attention, abnormal coordination, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, abdominal discomfort, and fatigue. Contact your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.
